PROCEDURE
The contract of civil union (Pacs) is a contract. It is established between two persons who are of legal age, opposite sex or same sex, to organize their life together.
In order to establish a contract of civil union:
- Each partner must be of legal age.
If one of the partners is a foreigner, he/she must be of legal age according to his/her country’s law.
– The partners must not be married or have another civil union.
– There must not be any direct family relationship between them.
Where the civil union contract is registered depends on the location of the future partners common living accommodation.
To register the joint declaration of their civil union contract, the future partners must appear together in person before the civil registrar of their residence’s City Hall. They must have their original documents and a valid form of identification.
